Come Inside. Me. Listed In AJC's 2012 Year In Review: Visual Arts

"Established galleries hung tight in a tough economic climate, but plenty of independent curatorial ventures such as Dashboard Co-Op continued to stage inventive, provocative shows in unusual spaces, including Nathan Sharratt’s navel-gazing solo show about his own life installed in a Peoplestown shotgun house." by Felicia Feaster

Drawings Purchased By High Museum Of Art

I'm excited to announce that two of my drawings have been purchased by High Museum Of Art in Atlanta, GA. Samo, by Andy Warhol/Nikita Gale/Nathan Sharratt, and Samo Aligned To Center, by Andy Warhol/Nikita Gale/Nathan Sharratt were added to the permanent collection in September. The drawings are part of my on-going series, This Is All My Work. Two remaining drawings, Andy, and Andy Aligned To Center, are available for purchase.

Huge thank you to the Michael Rooks, Barbara Archer, and Nikita Gale for allowing me to appropriate her work and Andy Warhol for not.

Inspiration For Moderns series debuts at Pop! at Kai Lin Art

I'm pleased to present Inspiration For Moderns, a series of cut-paper works celebrating the pop song lyric.

On view at Kai Lin Art from July 27th through September 7th, 2012.

Pop songs get a bad rap.  Their popularity and lowest-common-denominator appeal somehow makes them less authentic in the eyes (ears) of the cultured musical elites. I can’t count the number of times I’ve heard my “cool” friends tell me Katy Perry is the worst thing that has ever happened to the world, and if they hear that goddamn Gotye song one more time they’ll have a conniption. I think there are worse things in the world than a pop singer or an overplayed radio song. [more]

Photos from opening night by Dave Batterman.

Reviews from ArtsATL and Creative Loafing, and an NPR interview about the show and Dashboard Co-Op.
